The Wild Limestone Coast: Gulf of Orosei & Ogliastra Yacht Charters

A Gulf of Orosei and Ogliastra yacht charter explores Sardinia at its most dramatic. Along the island’s central-eastern coast, immense limestone cliffs descend directly into transparent blue water, concealing sea caves, natural arches, remote beaches, and narrow coves that remain difficult to reach by land.

From Cala Gonone in the north to Santa Maria Navarrese and Arbatax in the south, the coastline unfolds as a succession of extraordinary natural landmarks. Cala Luna, Cala Sisine, Cala Biriola, Cala Mariolu, and Cala Goloritzé appear beneath the Supramonte mountains, creating one of the Mediterranean’s most impressive cruising routes. The Gulf of Orosei is one of the clearest examples of where a private yacht provides a genuine advantage. Many of its most celebrated coves are reached most naturally from the sea, allowing charter guests to move between several otherwise isolated locations within a single day.

Cala Gonone provides a practical northern gateway to the gulf, with access to Cala Luna, the Bue Marino Caves, and the coastline beneath the Supramonte mountains. To the south, Santa Maria Navarrese offers a well-positioned marina near Cala Sisine, Cala Mariolu, and Cala Goloritzé, while Arbatax provides additional berthing and cruising access along the Ogliastra coast.

Cala Biriola & the Venus Pools: Swim through intensely turquoise water beneath wooded limestone cliffs, then continue towards the shallow natural pools near Grotta del Fico, one of the most luminous stretches of the Baunei Coast.
